Matariki earrings designed by Tania Tupu. Matariki is the Māori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades. It rises in mid-winter and for many Māori, it signifies the start of a new year.
18 mm x 8mm handcrafted oval bead hanging on sterling silver hooks.
Matariki literally means the 'eyes of god' or alternatively 'little eyes'.
